After 25 years, the Community Writing Center wanted a facelift. I was given 3 primary goals:

- “Less pretentious”
- Get rid of that font
- Softer, more appealing colors
The image above shows the original logo and color palette; below is my updated design. I wanted to keep some elements of it, such as a pen and a handwriting-like font, but for it to feel cleaner and clearer than the source.

Prior to my redesign of the logo, I found ways to make the old logo work to my benefit, adapting it to fit more cohesively with the events and workshops we were hosting. This flyer is an example of how I adjusted the logo and colors seasonally, ultimately increasing interaction.

Below are some ways I adapted the old logo’s colors to fit the vibe of a few workshops I created and hosted during my time at the CWC.

As it was often a lengthy process to make adjustments to the old logo, it was important to me that the new logo be easily and quickly adaptable. Below are a few examples of adjustments to the new logo to fit the tone.
