After 25 years, the Community Writing Center wanted a facelift. I was given 3 primary goals:

- “Less pretentious”
- Get rid of that font (Hello Sunshine Marker, a font loathed by many)
- Softer, more appealing colors
The image above shows the original logo and color palette; below is my updated design. I wanted to keep some elements of it, such as a pen and a handwriting-like font (a bit of an homage to the old design), but for it to feel cleaner and clearer than the source.

With the new logo, we needed new business cards. This is what I designed. (Should I have the old one there for reference?) (write more here)

Despite the general distaste people felt for the old logo, I still made it work to my benefit for different workshops and flyers, adapting it to fit more cohesively. This flyer is an example of how I adjusted the logo and colors seasonally, ultimately increasing interaction.

Below are some of the ways I adapted the colors of the old logo to fit the vibe of a few of the workshops I hosted during my time at the CWC.

It was often a lengthy process to make many color adjustments to the old logo, and I had to redo much of it to improve the file’s integrity. It was important to me that the new logo be easily and quickly adaptable. Below are a few examples of this.
